Openings

Sunday 29 May 2022 between 8.30 am and 10.30 am.

Description

At the end of the primary era, volcanic episodes caused 90% of the planet's living species to disappear. In the Colle Noire sector, and in particular next to the old Cap Garonne mine, a few clues preserved at the top of the Permian sandy-clay rocks (300 to 250 million years ago) show traces of an organic activity that would take another 5 million years to become established. The path around the mine allows you to make this discovery while enjoying the landscape further north where the younger limestone rocks reinforce the relief. The visit can be followed by a visit (for a fee) to the Cap Garonne Mine Museum.

Remember to bring a backpack, closed shoes and enough water. The route is 1.5 km long
